Sr. Josephine Murugi Njiri RNDM (Kenya) has developed a women's group in Riimenze, Western Equatoria, Southern Sudan. The goal of the project is to teach women a skill and help them strive to seek new knowledge. She is using sewing as a tool to empower women to increase their family income. Currently, there are eleven women learning to sew with Sr. Josephine.

Sr. Joana Mai Hla Kyi RNDM (Myanmar) is has developed a small clinic in Riimenze that delivers care to patients with an emphasis on herbal medicine and natural treatment. Sr. Joana is a professionally trained nurse and specializes in herbal medicine. Many of the medicines that are prescribed for patients are grown right in the Riimenze community. One of the most malevolent health problems in Southern Sudan is malaria. Below is a video of Sr. Joana at work in her clinic

Sr. Joana Mai Hla Kyi RNDM (Myanmar) Solidarity with Southern Sudan
Just down the road from the Riimenze community in Western Equatoria, Southern Sudan is Makpandu Refugee Camp. The refugees have fled from violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Central African Republic. Solidarity with Southern Sudan is currently offering informal education classes focusing on women's empowerment.
